    Camaro interior lights won't quit
My 1996 V6 Camaro developed a new habit last night. The interior lights will not dim after I turn on the ignition, and the buzzer sounds. When I take the key out and close the door, the lights are supposed to stay on a few seconds, then dim out. This does not happen. I figure a faulty switch, but all three, (Doors and trunk), seem to be moving with no problems. I need to drive this car more than I need to have interior lights. Is there a quick fix to stop this from happening?

Are you sure the light switch is not stuck in the "on" position?

Does the car tell you a door is open? (meaning a door switch is broken)
If not, check all switches... is the on/off switch in the dome light or in the dash.. if in the dash, try disconnecting it?

When all doors and trunk are closed, and the car is on, I still get the buzzer indicating an open door. I am going to assume that it is a door switch, because the trunk does something a little different if it is open. I tried to manually depress each switch to try and find the guilty party, but with no success. A neighbor told me to look for a accessory fuse and yank it. So now I at least don't have to worry about the battery running down. This all happened last night, and I yanked the battery cable, in the rain, to keep my car from dying on me. I put the cable back on, and it works like no problem. Not wanting to take any chances at school, I yanked the fuse. I put the fuse back on when I left class to see if it was okay. Guess what? Doing it again. And I did go to both doors with engine running, and played with the door plunger. Nothing budged. So I took out the fuse and went on my merry way. I'd like to get it fixed, since it is one of those things that if you don't, you'll need it.

So, its acting like the door isn't closed, but if you press each button, it "closes"? Odd...

Sorry, I was busy today. It act's like the door is open, even through I depress the plunger to "close" the door. Or even if I actually close the door itself. I have a faulty plunger, I just need to figure out how to disable it, and to find out which one.

I eliminated the hatchback, by the fact that when it is open I have no buzzer, normally. So it has to be the plunger on either the passenger or driver side of the car.
