    Credit Card Statute of Limitations
I have recently been sued by a collection agency attorney. Mann-Bracken. The credit card that this suit is for is showing on my TransUnion credit report as Date Closed: 3/2003 with a remark, Closed by consumer. I live in Pennsylvania where the statute of limitations on this type of debt is 4 years. Has the statute run out?

It would appear to have, but maybe not. If there has been no activity since 3/03, then I would fight it on grounds that the SOL has expired.

Were the papers filed with the Court - not served on you - within the Statutory period? That's how Statute is determined.

Papers are often filed but it takes some time to locate/serve the person.
