My daughter's 1999 Honca civic right rear door will not open from the outside, however It will open from the inside. I checked the child proof lock. It doesn't feel like the outside handle is disconnected, it just won't open the unlocked door. What are some of the things I can check or do. Thank you, I appreciate your expertise

Well, most likely the rod from the outside handle is not connected. You need to open then door up. The panel on the inside will come off (takes some work.. and every car is different) but once inside, you should be able to see where the handle disconnected. Usually it's a small plastic clip that broke.

Be sure too keep an eye out for hidden screws ( usually covered by small plastic caps) start from the bottom and work up.. if u get to a part that doesn't want to come off, check again for hidden screws. Check in the armrest.
