    Signing his rights over
My ex-boyfriend and I have never been married. We have a 5 month old son. The father has never given me money for him nor is he on child support. I was wanting to know how do I need to go about getting the father to sign his rights over?

He can if you've married and the father agrees to let your hubby adopt him.

There are HUNDREDS of threads here asking the same question. The bottomline is that a court has to grant a TPR and, generally, courts only grant one to clear the way for adoption or because the parent represents a danger to the child.

The main thing here is YOU, need to go to court, get a custody order, find him the father by DNA and get a child support order. Then you force him to pay money.

Unless you have a new husband who wants to adopt, no he is not allowed just to sign over his rights
