    violating probation
My son was caught driving under a suspended license first offense while on probation, he is in jail for with no bond and has court coming up. What kind of sentence do they usually give for that? He now has his license and has a good job. Thank you

Depends on the State, his age, his previous record, why he was on probation, whether the PO has a desire to give him a rough time.

What was he on probation for, that is the issue, since it sounds like he is on a probation hold.

    Hello debbie:

I don't know. What was his license suspended for, and how did he take care of it while he's sitting in jail?

If he did it BEFORE his PO violated him, he shouldn't have been violated. But, PO's do things I don't think they should do.

Given the above, they COULD sentence him to do his entire sentence behind bars. Or they could go easy on him. There's NO guidelines. It depends on the judge, the prosecutor and the PO.

If you want the BEST outcome, HIRE a good criminal attorney.
