I have a large breed dog(pointer). I was told he has HID. How do dogs get this? I don't understand. Is he in pain? He'll limp for a little bit then he's okay. When he gets up from laying down he limps for a little longer. I can't let him on the couch or up on the beds. He's a heavy dog. Can someone help me understand?

I did a fast Google search for "HID" pertaining to canine diseases and came up with nothing... so he may have done that too and was equally as stumped?

Can you confirm that its CHD or ask again a little clearer?
