    Low shower head flow
I have a repeatedly-troublesome shower (see my prev threads) that I continue to fight with.

Now my problem is that the shower line is stuck with low flow. It is NOT the shower head. It is clean and unobstructed. It flows fine if I put it in another bathroom.

The system is a Delta, but the faucet is a replacement generic from Home Depot.

I get plenty of water flow out of the faucet, but when I pull up the diverter handle on the faucet, the shower goes on very weakly. I just replaced the diverter cartridge (Delta 1700), believing this to be the cause of the problem, but it did not fix the problem.

Does anyone know what in the world is causing this? I've wasted hours on this problem.

Did you pull the shower head and remove the water saver? This is a rubber washer with small holes around the edge. Simply pry it out and toss it. Good luck, Tom

Yes I did, a long time ago. That did not address the problem.

Ah, I thought you were talking about the first plastic flow restrictor which I threw away a long time ago.

I looked closer, found the ring you referenced, ripped it out (that thing was in there pretty snug) and now the shower flows.

    Thanks!

My separate hot and cold shower faucets were replaced with a pressure balance valve and a new showerhead, which reduced water flow. What can I do to restore flow?

What exactly do you call "reduced flow"? All faucets sold today are Low Flow, so are the shower heads.

You can take out the shower head and look inside the threads. There is a flow restrictor. Remove it and toss it. You get as much volume as your valve allows...
