I don't even understand the question. By thirty days, I assume you mean 30 days notice that you're moving out. If you're moving... why would you pay for another 6 months? Or did you mean something else?

You lived there for 6 months, then you paid the rent for those 6 months, then you gave him 30 days notice, then he told you to pay homeowners insurance?

You say (in the heading) that you paid 6 months up front; then you say you paid him when the 6 months were over; now you say he wants to be paid for another 6 months - rent or insurance?

Is there a lease? I don't understand what's gone on here.

You do need to qualify this, explain exactly what happened and whether you had a lease.

I can say that once a lease has been agreed to, it can't be changed without BOTH parties agreement.

I rented a house in Las vegas for six months. The day I was moving in the landlord stoppd by to pick up my first and last but instead asked me to pay for six months upfront and told me that will take care of everything. He told me if I didn't pay upfront for six months than I need to find a different place because in vegas people move in and out without any notices. After the fifth month I decided to movebecause I coudlnt pay him six months upfront again so I gave him my 30 notice. Two weeks later he came by and askd me for the security deposit and the home owners association I laughed at him. After moving out two moths later I was served to show up in court, can he ask me for the deposit and six months of homewoners association after demanding I pay him six moths upfront in rent.

Now you make more sense. The answer to you question goes back to your lease. What does it say that you were required to pay. If the lease says 6 months at x per month and you can prove you paid 6 * x, then he doesn't have a case.

Yes he can certainly require that you pay 6 months upfront. You have the option of not renting from him.

You need to be real precise in what you tell us. Did he include the HOA bill with the lease or did he present it to you after you gave notice?

I think he can pretty much demand whatever he wants - it would be a new lease - but you don't have to do it.

If the homeowners fees aren't covered in the lease they are not your responsibility.
