I am 20 weeks pregnant... baby is about 12 ounces and 6 1/2 inches. Baby is completely healthy and symmetrical (they where amazed because it was textbook) hehe. A perfectly round head and everything developing as it should... mommy healthy too:D. Anyway my chiropractor told me I was going to have a boy... I said "yea right, my husbands brother has 4 girls so what are my chances...really:p...besides all thats important is that baby is healthy" he refers to baby as Junior every time and I thought it was silly. At the ultrasound we asked to find out the sex of the baby... since we left my daughter a surprise we just got impatient and wanted to prepare in advance. She said the chiropractor is right you are going to have a boy! Well you can imagine how happy hubby's side of the family is... some people ask me "are they sure because I thought you where going to have a girl?" now I am second guessing it even though we saw the pee pee:eek:.

What do you think... ultrasound accurate? Pee pee couldn't be mistaken by something else?

Technology is pretty accurate nowadays. But you still can't be 100% sure until the baby comes out. It sounds like they were able to see the baby very clearly, so I would think its most likely a boy.

When I was pregnant the doctor told me information (in general) from an ultrasound was 85% accurate. It may have changed this past year 1/2 but probably not.

The ultrasounds are usually about 85 - 90 percent accurate. In my time of delivering babies, I have only delivered one boy that was said to be a girl by ultrasound. I also have a friend that was told, not once but twice, that she was having a boy and they both came out girls.

My father told me about a doctor in the 1950s who would tell his pregnant patients the sex of the baby they were going to have. If he said, "boy" he would write down "girl" in his medical notes. If he said "girl," he would write down "boy."

Then when the baby came, he was right about half the time. The other half, where he was wrong, he would tell the women they had misremembered what he said. If they challenged him, he would go back and show them his notes "proving" he was right.

My father thought this was funny. I thought it was a jerky thing to do.

Don't get too many ultrasounds to make sure about the sex of your baby. You can't do anything about it and you will love the baby either way. AND there's some evidence that lots of hours of ultrasound can damage a baby's brain. A few ultrasounds is probably no big deal, but no need to go back repeatedly for more images, as people sometimes do.

That just makes me laugh. As an aside... my niece was pregnant with her second child. She found out through ultrasound that it was a girl. Now my BIL, you got to know him, is moderately mentally challenged, when he found out it was a girl he got so excited and yelled... SEE I TOLD YOU IT WOULD BE A BOY OR A GIRL!! :D:D

I didn't find out the sex for either of my kids. I figured that not knowing is one of the only things in life that is truly a surprise.

I have to say I was shocked that my second was a girl, didn't expect to have a girl, they're few and far between in both families.

Jared, well, I was so confident that he was a boy that I painted his room blue, bought blue clothes and didn't even pick a girls name. Thanks goodness I was right. ;)

I chose not to find out with any of mine (I have 4). My thought was that if you only got one gift for Christmas, and you knew what it was in June, Christmas wouldn't be so exciting.

There are very few surprises left in life, this is one of the only true surprises that we get.

100 % accurate... had the boy! And the date of conception was correct!
