Hi

I am installing a basement bar sink. I have no drain in the area and no vent. I was wondering if I can install a pump and have this drain up and out the side of my house at ground level into a landscaping bed?

The sink will not be a high volume sink and be used mainly to clean some glasses etc.

Also If this is possible and I am not connecting to any other drainage system, Do I need a vent?

If I need a vent could I used a mechanical vent?

This would not be allowed by code so were you planning to try to stay within code? If you did this a sealed sump with an AAV would suffice since you will not be part of the home sewer.

You would not only run afoul of the Building Department code but when you discharge gray water out on your lawn you risk The Environmental Agency red tagging your house as a health hazard. . Now if you were to build a small dry well you might get away with it. It seems like a lot of expense and trouble for a bar sink to clean glasses. Good luck, Tom
