Does anybody here know of a way to prevent riding lawntractors from constantly clogging up. I have a huskee so mayby I wouldn't be getting this problem if I would've just coughed up the money for the john deere. Questions are this.

1) would a john deere help my problem

2) Do they make any products that you can attach to the shute of these things that can perhaps suck/push the grass more inorder to prevent clogging.

3) Anything else you want to add. I also don't mow when the grass is wet.

My grass is somewhat thick though so I might have to get the goods. Any help. Thanks.

Make sure the blades are sharp.
Try different style blades.
You could try cooking spray around the chute to make it slick.
You could try cutting the grass a little more often or cut a little slower. Sometimes it's the grass that's the problem, other times... it's a badly designed deck or blades.

The huskee is a decent machine... don't buy new unless you have to

As long as you properly clean your deck after 1 or 2 cuttings and keep the blades sharp you should be fine...

You could try 1 of those 3way blades that are out there.. I know mine has them and cuts the grass awesome... but I also sharpen my blades and scrape the old grass off my deck after each cutting

Don't try cutting so much at a rip also... 1/3 height is the general amount you want to cut or you end up risking damage to the grass..

That is what I have, a three way blade. It is designed for mulching, bagging, and side discharge. I figured that a blade made specifically for bagging would perform a lot better that one that is made for all three purposes, but mayby I am mistaken. Anyway though I went down to my local huskee supplier and they said that they don't make any blades for huskee's that are designed specifically for bagging. Does anybody here know of any universal bagging blades that can fit in a huskee that has a 46" deck. It is a 2004 or 2005 year as well. Thank you.

I probably should be cleaning the deck more often though. I really don't clean it that often cause I really have never notice that much of an improvement after I have cleaned it. Mayby I should spray cooking spray under the deck as well. Could help the situation. Anything else. Thank you for the help.

I'm not understanding the cooking spray thing... won't it leave a oily film that will collect the grass and dust and make it sticky?

The cooking spray, well that's for the grass, so its not hazardous to anything. It'll keep the grass from sticking, from it being simply oily, If you cut a lot of grass and stir up a lot of sand or dirt, yeah it could make that stick, but not grass.

Thank you for the site that you placed on Tommyp!972. Huskee seems to only make the three in one blades cause that is all that I could find there as well.

It looks like for the cooking spray the best thing to do is to try it and see for yourself. It doesn't take long to spray cooking spray on the inside of the chute. Thanks for the replies.

Try a product called MowerGUARD (www.mowerguard.com) It works
