2001 honda crv missing under load
Working on a 2001 honda crv for a friend that misses under load (accel, uphill, a/c on @ idle, etc... ) he replaced the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and coil. When he brought it to me, I test drove it and it wasn't as bad as he had described, but gets worse as it warms up. I am looking at the map sensor, but can't find any specs for the signal wire on alldata. It has a good 5v ref and a good ground. Any suggestions??

Have you checked to see if there are any diagnostic codes stored in the computer?

    It only has misfire codes.

Where did he get the replacement parts from? Did he replace them all at the same time or did he do it in stages(i.e.: plugs & wires first, then the cap & rotor, then the coil)? Have you tried running some cleaner through the injectors?

Replace the Ignition Control Module, coating the back with a thin, even coat of heat transfer silicone grease. This will likely solve the problem.

It really seems like an ignition problem. I work on Toyotas and this sort of problem is usually a coil. That ICM may fix it. I'll give it a shot.

Something else I thought of. We had a vehicle in here that kept coming up with a misfire code on cyl. 3 but the plugs & wires were new; the intake gasket had started leaking internally which was causing the misfire. Good luck!
