Title Change in TX, Mother Died
My mother passed away in July and I am named Executrix on her will. I have already probated the will and have Letters of Testamentary. I just don't know how I go about changing the name on the deed from her name to mine. The house is paid off. Thanks for any help.

    My condolences on your loss.

You have to prepare a deed from yourself, as Executor of your mother's estate, to yourself as buyer. Then you need to have the deed recorded in the county clerk or county register's office.

I suggest that you have the deed prepared by a real estate attorney or title agency. It won't be expensive and that way you'll be sure that it was done the right way.

Lisa is 100 percent correct, that you will transfer the deed from the estate to yourself.
