Lets get straight to the point. My friend is dating a guy who lives in NZ (we live in Aus) she said she met him in noosa but apparently he runs away from his parents and his cousin has something to do with him ending up in hospital. So how could he come to a new country without his parents signature etc? So I have two questions.
1: my other friend and I don't consider this 'dating'. We believe that if they were dating they'd be seeing each other face to face. So would they be more considered as good friends?
2: do you really think all the stuff he says actually happens? He says most days he'll be in hospital with new bruises from his because. But he's said a few lies to us before. He doesn't like me and dubbed me 'most annoying person ever met'. I found this extremely hurtful after everything I've done to the 'relationship' he's having with my friend, who I consider more as a sister. I've saved their relationship so many times and the way he shows his appreciation is saying I'm annoying. Im a positive person and he's really negative. I try to be nice to him and try to be his friend, but he says he never wants to be my friend because, once again, I'm annoying. Now my friend (the 1 dating him) is saying that she agrees with him! So should I listen to what he says? And should I save their relationship agen? Im the reason why their still together. Im the type of girl who stiks up 4 myself and friends, but I can't do this no more! He's just so *censored*! I gues he's lucky he lives in another country because I would have knocked him one by now ;)

First of all, no they wouldn't be considered "good friends." I have known my fiancé for almost 3 years, and have been dating him for over a year. Of the 18 months we've been dating, I have only seen him face-to-face for maybe 3 of those months, if that. Otherwise, for 3 months our only contact was letters, and for 9 months we called each other twice a week. More recently, he lives 2 hours away, and if he can afford it, and get a ride, he will come up to see me on the weekends. So, you can "date" long-distance.

As far as your second question goes, your friend is obviously taking sides with her man because it's basically the "law" if you're dating someone. Hang out with her one-on-one, and forget about her boyfriend, that's her business, and her choice, so forget that! But keep staying positive, and being a good friend, giving her advice etc.

But your keeping contact through letters and have seen face to face for a while. She uses the noosa trip as an excuse from the actual truth which is 'I met him over the internet'. She only talks to him on msn.
