    No cold water in bathtub
    Hi there,
I am having a problem with my bathtub on my second floor of a house I just moved into.
I don't have any water coming out of the cold water valve. The hot works fine and the toilet and sink both work fine for both got and cold.
Is there a problem with the cartridge? There doesn't appear to be a separate shut off for the bathtub?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello den. If the valve is a single handle then its probobly a pressure balancing valve, its probably sticking if it hasn't been used in a while. Either way you will need to shut the main water valve to the house off to take out and clean the cartridge. While you have the cartridge out of the valve have someone help you give a shot of water by turning on and off the main valve to check that there isn't any debre on the cold side supplying the valve. If you get a good flow of water through the valve then put cartrigde back on valve and try again. Let us know how it goes good luck----zeke----

In addition: Tub faucets have only rarely dedicated shut off valves. Some faucets have them installed on the rough body - but only in commercial applications and in very few residential situations.

Thanks. I did check the cartridge and itlooked OK. I will try to flush it with a quik burst and see what happens. I did talk to the previous owners and they say they hadn't used it in a while. Any need to replace the cartridge?
