    World’s benchmark currency?
I just want to know what is the world’s benchmark currency today? I believe it's the dollar but I'm a little confused of what is going on with the Euro. Can the Euro become the world’s benchmark currency if it isn't yet?

Although these are major trading currencies, they are hardly the only ones.
In fact, the financial world relies on eight benchmark currencies ;)

    EUR - Euro
    GBP - British Pound
    USD - US Dollar
    CHF - Swiss Franc
    CAD - Canadian Dollar
    AUD - Australian Dollar
    HKD - Hong Kong Dollar
    JPY - Japanese Yen

(By the way, the above list is not in any order of importance.)
