    It's a vicious cycle
How honest should you be when entering a new relationship? My cheating past comes to haunt me once too often.. do potential partners need to know that I've strayed in the past? I feel myself obliged to let them know - but this automatically causes insecurities and we both end up suffering because of this throughout the relationship. Id feel guilty if I didn't tell the girl about my past but is is really necessary?

There is no need to tell more than you have to in a new relationship. Let the other person decide for themselves how they feel about you.

Make sure your that interested first, as just dating requires no information that's not their business.

If you haven't really changed though, and are still going to cheat, what's the point?

Stay out of relationships, until you have dealt with your own issues, and you won't have to worry about it. No lying, cheating, and misleading that way.

Agree with Tal a 100%. But when you are in a relationship you should man up and tell. This is just my opinion.

Nope, you don't owe it to tell them your past actions as you may have completely changed. I was a player when I was single and after me and my fiancé first started dating I told her about how I was just because I didn't want her hearing it from other people but I wasn't going to tell her if our connection wasn't heading anywhere.

If she asks on the other hand, come clean as lying will only make things worse
