    Copy right for websites
I've been browsing through web sites and have noticed in the bottom of the home page they have a copyright logo. My question is do I need to purchase one for my own web site or the websites I create for other companies?

Not unless you want it copyrighted. I would assume, the companies you create them would need to do it themselves.

I wouldn't worry about it... it would be really hard to prove someone stole stuff from your site, maybe logo, graphic, or image, but even then, some slight alterations and it can look different. Maybe if anything... you could copyright the name.

This is just my opinion though :)

There are several Internet sites which provide good, comprehensive information on copyrighting a website.

While you have some degree of protection by simply putting your work out there, you CANNOT sue for infringement unless the site/work is actually formally copyrighted.

If you have put time and energy into your site, if it is unique, if someone might copy your work, you really should copyright it.
