I am having problems understanding inverse fractions :confused:
Example
2t-0.16+0
I'd appreciate any help out there - Thank you
I meant the exampe was 2t-0.16=0 (mistake the first time I asked the question):confused:
you posted the correction on another post, but in the future, it's best to just edit your current post.
you meant
2t - 0.16 = 0
well, you would naturally solve for t... so add 0.16 to both sides
2t = 0.16
now, inverse fractions are just that, fractions that are inverted or "turned upside down"
Normally, you would divide by 2, or just multiply the inverse, which is (1/2)
(1/2) 2t = (0.16)(1/2)
and you get
t = your answer
You need to find 't'? Simple, first add 0.16 on both sides, you'll end up with 2t=0.16. Then divide both sides by 2.
Hope I helped you...
EDIT: Hey they merged the two threads!
Oops, I didn't see that one and answered the other thread. Anyway, good job Sneezy!
