I bought a crucifix at a yard sale. I was told it was a crucifix from a casket. I am reluctant to bring it into my house until I know its safe from unwanted spirits. My questions are... can spirits, good or bad, attach themselves to a religious object? Should I have it blessed? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you. P
Well it is known that yes spirits can be attached to objects. Considering it was from a casket it may have not had any relevant meaning to the individual unless they had some sort of an emotional attachment. Please do keep in mind that it does absorb energy at all times and events are imprinted like fingerprints on the object... this is why some spiritualists can read from objects. So to answer your question. You should have this blessed and it is good practice to have anything holy blessed by your priest especially in your home.
There is no evidence for souls, afterlife, reincarnation, heaven, hell, deities, entities, ghosts, spirits, angles, elfs, fairies, leprechauns, cluricauns, far darrig, silkies, banshees, changelings, etc. etc. to exist. It is all based on BELIEF.Quote:

But to a logical thinker it is just a peace of metal or wood representing a thought.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions and assumptions so I can understand your point. I like to think I am open minded so there really is no wrong or right answer. I am catholic so... its not a piece of wood (evidently if he/she bought a crucifix they also have a belief in some practice of Christian/catholic faith). It is also my faith and my belief that the cross is a representation of our faith of Jesus's death and dying for our sins so we can seek salvation. This can be a very touchy subject so I am trying not to come across rude or anything, just asking you to see it from a "believers" point of view. To believe means to have faith in something that is not a fact and to enter blind-heartedly.Quote:

Most spirits are simply human souls; they are necessarily good or bad. Some spirits however are of a different "spiritual species," i.e. angels and demons. As odd as it may feel, most spirits depart when asked verbally to leave. Those with malicious intent (that is, demons) have the potential to possess an individual, their home, or other locations.
If you feel as though the latter possibility is a concern, I would suggest having your home, and yourself blessed. If odd activity begins shortly after the blessing, I would start jotting down the occurrences, names of those in the house, and if possible video/audio evidence. If you feel overcome or unable to control yourself, I would discuss exorcism (as strictly a last option) with your priest or minister, but do NOT allow a non-Catholic (or similar denominational) minister to perform an exorcism unless he or she understands demonology, and has official training. Ignorance on behalf of the exorcist can lead to death.
As this is an extremely rare occurrence (only 20% of all reported exorcism requests warrant the full ritual), I would be more concerned with simply asking the spirits to leave, and asking God (and St. Michael the Archangel) for protection.
Such ignorance. There is substantial evidence for the existence of souls, measurable due to their electromagnetic frequency; essentially the soul (spirit) is an EM field. Also, numerous anecdotes of near-death experiences relate to very similar occurrences as the soul leaves the body, thus providing evidence for the afterlife.Quote:

Because the last statement is true, Heaven and Hell become possible. Heaven is eternal bliss, while hell is eternal misery. A religion without hell is someone erroneous. There is no need for religion without hell, because there is no need to regulate life spiritually.
Logically speaking, the evidence for God, as ONE being is substantial. I would suggest looking into Thomistic though, namely St. Thomas Aquinas' ideas on pluralism. I would also suggest researching the cosmological argument for the existence of God; it exists in two parts, vertical and horizontal. While independent, they do compliment one another.
