Getting divorced and dating a divorcée
Ok. I am currently in the middle of divorce. And I am seeing someone who I have known for years who is also getting divorced. Neither of the divorces were caused by our relationship. We did not start this until both of us had moved out and declared that divorce was the intention. It was only conincidence that we did it with in about 6 months of each other. My basic question is I'm afraid of the rebound effect. Could this new relationship really work and turn into something, or are we doombed from the get go.

No one can say if you're doomed or really work. Only time will tell, and why not enjoy the ride? It could very well be a great relationship.

Lets be realistic, no one knows what the future holds for you, so its in both your best interest to go very slow, and not have those high expectations, and realize you both need time, and space for the healing to begin, after the dust from the divorce has settled.

You may be leaning on each other now, but if you have learned nothing about the failed relationships of the past, then this one will likely fail also.

Be cautious and realistic, as what's the hurry to jump into something else before the ink is dry on the divorce papers?
