    Stopping a divorce
My husband and I filed for Divorce in NJ based on Irreconcialable differences. It's been about 5 weeks and we're told it should be completed by the middle of next month. We already have a claim number. But yesterday, we spoke and decided to figure out how we can stop the divorce and work it out. Is this possible? What must we do and what forms must we file? Thank you

From what I heard, you can still stop the divorce as long as the judge has not stamped the papers yet. I think the term is have the case removed. You need to call the court clerk and ask them how this can be done. The sooner the better because after the papers are stamped, you're divorced.
    Good Luck!
