I have a real problem driving at night. All ligts appear to reflect to my headlights and look like several ribbons. Depending on the number of oncoming vehicles and lamp lights, there could be dozens of streaming light ribbons. Last night there was road construction and police lights - a regular party. This is totally annoying and at first I thought it was vision problems, but my passenger saw it too. What is it and what can be done?

Try leaning your head out the window and see if it looks different.

Dirty windshields play tricks with lights. Be sure to clean the inside of the windshield as that is probably where your problem is. Even if you do not smoke the inside gets dirty and needs to be cleaned on a regular basis.
