OK here we go I'm not too sure if this is a late 80's movie or a early 90's movie

Its about two kids and a father... the oldest daughter is a tom boy... and she likes to play basket ball... turns out she has a crush on this boy. All I can really remember besides that is at the end of the movie she has her braces removed and she gets the guy kind of hahaha... im just confused and I have been trying to find the actors from the time frame and looking for the movies they play in and well yeah... if you can help let me know
