Okay I have a friend that is married to a Mexican with a green card after she married him, they were married for a couple years broke up then went back together. They have two house's on their property he lives in back and her in front. He always yells at her and beats her up. She calls the police but always drops the charge's. I think that something is really wrong with this, can he get his green card revoked for mistreating her if so who do I report this too?:mad:

She was born here in United States,yes they are married but separted and living on the same property in different homes. And she got him the green card for them being married.He is convicted of domistic violance on her and is on probation for this, How can he even stay on the property?Thank you, Debby

He can legaly stay on the property until she gets a Court Order barring him from his own property. Why does she keep dropping the charges on him? In some states DV charges are not able to be dropped but prosecuted with or without the spouse's testimony. Anyone who beats a woman deserves jail time in my opinion.

Also his conviction could get his green card revoked. She needs to talk to ICE about this situation.

If they're married less than 2 years then he would still hold a conditional 2 years green card, which will be automatically revoked if she files for a divorce.

If she does not file for a divorce, she may pursue criminal charges against him, and his green card will be revoked, or renewal will turn deportation. During the procedures, she can obtain restraining order which means he can't get near her or stay in the same property... but if she keeps dropping the charges, nobody can help her.

If you are family member, you may ask for help from shelter that provides assistance for victims of domestic abuse, telling them that she dropped the charges more than once so you need to step in... they will understand. Many of victims of domestic violence keeps going back to the abuser.. it's normal.

She should do both... file divorce and get restraining order asap.
