    Shower arm just spins!
I'm trying to change my shower arm and it won't come off just gets loose, it keeps spinning! How do I get it to come off?
There seems to be a large washer holding it behind the shower wall, it feels like its off he pipe but it's just stuck by the washer

Your shower arm is threaded into a ell in the wall. If it spins then that means that you've unscrewed it. Just give it a strong pull. Good luck, Tom,

Agree with Tom. The shower arm is probably caulked in and caulk (or grout) is holding it tightly in. Pull on it... you cannot break anything. It will come out...

That or you snapped off the 90 degree drop ear from the verticle pipe.

It's not chalked in it just spins because of the washer behind the shower wall. How do I get to te washer without tearing the whole shower out?

No washer, afraid you broke the ell off the riser pipe. Going to have to open wall on the other side and repair.

It certainly looks like broken Dropped 90...

Just to make sure that we know what we are talking about, before you burst open the wall, see if you can screw the shower arm back in.

If that washer was brass then you have broke the drop eared ell,(see image) off from the shower raiser. If that's the case the wall will have to be opened up and the ell replaced. Note: It took a lot or power to pull that ell out of the backing it was screwed into and more power to bust the copper raiser. Did you " gorilla" that shower arm out? Regards, Tom
