Recently I've been experiencing problems with my water pressure in the whole house. It started one day and the pressure just keep gradually dropping every day. My plumbing is all pvc but the hot water line is metal. There are no leaks visible under the house and at the water heater.

I tried flushing the water heater out, in case it might have been a build up of debris. No change. The odd thing is, is that the water pressure from the street to my hose is fine. But its all inside the house that's the problem. So I know I have pressure just getting it back inside my house is my problem!

Is there a PRV (pressure reducing valve) installed? (see image). Do you have pressure on the outside hose bibs? Has the city been working on the street main lately? How about a sprinkler system? Do you have one? Let me know, tom

I have a water filter on the main pipe for the whole house. No the city isn't working on the mains. I do have a sprinkler system but it has great pressure.

Oh I forgot to mention maybe this can help to know. But I have a 10 yr old 80 gal water heater. I don't know if that helps to know or that it might be the problem.

Answer Tom's questions, I don't think that the water heater will be your problem, it looks like the problem is with the PRV as Tom asked you to check if you have one installed, check your water pressure at the out side hose bibs, use a water pressure test gauge, good luck.

The vwater filter is where I'd start. Bypass it! Do you have pressure on the outside hose bibs? Anything else between you and water pressure such as a water softener? Bypass it also! Your water heater will have nothing to do with losing pressure in the entire house. Let me know what you find out. Good luck, Tom

Thanks ill try the filter and check back in if nothing happens. And yes I do have good hose pressures.
