Okay so here's my story someone please help me. My husband and I have been together for about 7 years now k. He has always been insecure but since he has been unemployed he has been even more which is so strange. I go to school mon-thurs in the evening while he stays and watches the kids. He tells me I'm going and seeing my boyfriend or another guy. I don't even have "friends" here in this town just neighbors whom I rarely talk to and classmates I'm just in class for, so there is no reason for this what so ever. Its so frustrating. He thinks I cheat on him with "his" friends UGH... disgusting no fricken way, they are way out of my league, but he insists I do. I don't know what's up can anyone relate?? Or help me please. Its starting to ruin our relationship we've fought so long and hard to have.

I say go see someone about this. He needs to hear it from someone other than you that this is not a healthy way of thinking. He can also push you further and further away if it persists. Good luck!

This sounds like a typical guy who has lost what little bit of security he had left. The fact that he is unemployed is the biggest source for this. Guys take pride in being the breadwinner and providing for their families. He isn't now, even if he's collecting unemployment, his job was his identity, so to speak and now he doesn't have that anymore. Second, he may feel threatened about the fact that you are going back to school. Statistics show that one spouse with a college education is LESS likely to stay with the spouse that DOES NOT. I don't know if your's has been to college or what the case is, but he may feel like he is being "left behind" in a way. Sit down and let him know that you love him, that you are bettering yourself for the benefit of your FAMILY, him included and that your schooling and his lack of a job doesn't make you look at him any differently. Try to make him feel included in your schoolwork, ask him to help you study, make him feel needed. Hope this helps! Good luck!
