We bought (outright... no mortgage) a manufactured home on property (through a HUD foreclosure) for our daughter, husband and granddaughter. We are in CA they are in Texas. We 'gifted' the amount to her so in legal terms, the property is hers. It is in her name only since the bank account and name on the cashier's checks had to match. The title deed is in her name only. We and she would like to add our names on the deed. This isn't a question of who owns what. We all want to do this in case something happens to her.
I couldn't find anything on the forum that dealt with this. Hopefully I'm not wasting anyone's time by asking a repeat question. That question is, how do we go about adding our names to the deed. We will be in Texas next month. Is it a simple form or do we need professional, legal help?

At the top of the Real Estate Law forum is a sticky post entitled "How to add someone to your deed" that explains what you need to do. I suggest that you have this handled by an attorney or title company.
