    Interest being charged when I don't have the card
    I'am having my check garnished from discover originally I owed 4,000 I defaulted on my payment long story short I have paid them 4,693.09 and they say I still owe 3,320.00 how can I have them stop charging me 10%interest on a credit card I have not used in over 6 years HELP... :mad:

    In order to file for garnishment they HAVE to have a Judgment against you in a dollar amount. You would need to determine what that dollar amount is as you would owe the balance, interest, fees, costs.

    Your employer is also allowed to charge you a percentage for the paperwork involved - that would be part of what you have already paid. All the money taken did not go to the creditor.
