    MSN messenger contacts
I hope someone can give a little help here.

Recently I re-installed MSN messenger on my computer. All my contacts were stored and so when I re-installed it they all came back up on the screen (I've been inactive on messenger for the past 7/8 months).

The problem is that only 2/3 contacts are visible or signing in on a daily basis. Unless all my contacts changed their routine of using a computer everyday than most of them appear offline. I have checked the "see whos added you to their contact list" section and they all appear, so its not as if they all deleted me. I have windows liveversion 8.1 I believe so I don't think its an update issue.

Could it have something to do with me being away so long? Lastly, thepersonal messages beside some of their names are the same as when I un-installed the program 8 months ago. When the few contacts that do sign on appear their message is always updated. The contacts that don't appear have the same messages and so it would seem they have not used their computers all week, I doubt that.

    Any ideas?

It can be that you need an updated version, or the problem can be with you're computer. Did you try un-installing it again and making sure you erased all the files that's in you're computer for the window's messenger? If not try it.

    Thanks meeka,

I tried what you said and found some problems.

The installation was unsuccessful and the troubleshooting options are as follows:

    1. enough hard space (I have enough space)
    2. Firewall ( I'm pretty sure it allows the website)
    3. System requirements (again, I'm sure my computer can handle it)

    Any input? I'm lost.
