    X BOX game malfunctions
Lately when I play games on my xbox the character (during mid game play) I am playing slows down and can no longer run or go faster anymore. The games are clean and unscratched but only my character malfunctions in this way.

    What could be wrong? Thanks.

... is it only the one game? Or any game... what game is it?

Is this the 360 or the orig?

It mainly started with Deus x 2 (on original x box but a later model which I now have) the second time around playing it.

Now its with another similar game (new can't remember name).

Well, my first instinct is to say its getting to hot.

I would pop off the outside case and use canned air to blow out all the dust. Clean the vent slots as well. Also, make sure the power brick is in an open area (so it doesn't overheat).

Time to upgrade to the 360! Price just went down again :) lol

Yeah, xbox has a problem with overheating could cause the lag. My 360 has gotten red ring of death 2 times. And the RROD fake out several times.

I want to clean it inside with air but it's a later model with no visible screws at all. There are none on the surface.
Its transparent with grills and the power box has never been 'hot'.
It plays DVD's absolutely fine as well. Its just not playing my characters properly.

    X Box game malfucntion
My X Box is not playing my characters properly. They slow down after the first few minutes of game play and stay like that.
It plays DVD's fine. The power box has never been too hot or over heated.
I used a lens cleaner by dvd it did not help.
I want to air clean inside but the model is a transparent newer one with no visible screws or adjustments at all. It just has grills so I can't take it apart at all.
How can I effectively air clean it and is this/will this solve the problem?

    Thanks.

The screws are hidden under the pads.

    Here you go.
You just need the first few steps...

    Thanks butI don't understand.
Is this procedure to 'air clean' the x box?

It looks very tricky and professional.

Will it fix the 'slow character' problem? I might end up destroying the entire mechanism!

Just a warning, opening the case will likely invalidate your warranty.

I'm guessing, this system is WELL out of warranty.

That guide is to take the WHOLE thing apart. ALl you need to do is follow the first few steps to remove the cover. Once open, blow all the dust and crap out.
