    Wax ring replacement
I'm remodeling an upstairs bathroom. Have the toilet tank pulled (so I can paint) and will be re caulking around the toilet and replacing the white caps/gasket on the toilet to floor. While I've got this thing dismantled, should I pull the whole toilet and replace the wax ring? House is about 7 years old. No signs of leaking, but was wondering if preventative is a better idea. Thanks for any input!

I'm a great believer in, If it ain't broke don't fix it!! There's no reason to pull and reset the bowl. It just makes extra work for you. Good luck, Tom

Thanks Tom! I thought that leaving well enough was probably a good idea, but it never hurts to ask. Thanks again!

Agree with Tom. If it didn't leak in 7 years, than you probably have a good seal-connection. Leave it the way it is.
