I have a Coleman Powermate 5000w generator model # pma525302. The generator came unbolted from the engine and damaged the oil seal on the shaft and the fan on the rotor. I have the parts to fix it, but I cannot seem to remove the rotor from the engine shaft. It appears to only have one bolt holding it on, but I removed the bolt and the rotor still will not budge. Is there something else holding it on or is it just stuck? If it is just stuck is there a way to unstick it?

I think what your referring to is the "flywheel". The cage around it is called the "blower housing". If it's a typical engine, there is a flywheel key and the blower fits on a tapered shaft, so the more you tighten the bolt, the tighter it gets. The flywheel key might also be wedged making things more difficult to get apart.

Gently tapping tends to work in most instances.

If it damaged the "fan" which is likely an integral part of the flywheel, you can resort to other measures.

You may have to invest in a flywheel puller for the engine.

It will usually be something that will have a big botlt down the center and that bolt sits on top of the shaft. Then there are long screws that attach to holes in the flywheel and you gently lift it up parallel to the shaft by tightening the big bolt.

I'm sorry I wasn't clear enough in my question. The part that is damaged is part of the generator not the engine. It is not called the flywheel it is called the rotor, the only reason I know for sure is I already orderd and received the parts. It's the piece that slides on the shaft coming out of the engine. It has a plastic fan on it to help keep the generator cool.
