    Deductions: NR alien 1040nrez form
I am filling 1040NR-EZ for 2007. Applied for extension in April.
    Single Indian male on F1 in 2007 . Filed 8843 in 2006.
I understand I can get deductions for
    a) sd 5350
    b) personal 3500
    c) itemized deduction state tax (400)
    Can someone confirm this

So if my income is 10000. I am left with only say ~700taxable

For 2007, Standard deduction is $5,350 and personal exemption is $3,400.

Under the U.S.-India Tax Treaty, you can claim the standard deduction instead of itemizing.

Hence, your taxable income from your $10,000 salary is $1,250.

    Thank you. Great Help.
I see some people deducting state income tax withheld as an itemized deduction in 1040-nrez row 11 . Is this correct.

    I am done, thanks

Yes, they CAN claim the state withheld tax as an itemized deduction on Line #11, Form 1040NR-EZ, but you should do so ONLY IF that itemized exceeds the $5,350 standard deduction.
