    Thanks

This is not blackmail as you did not mention that the person wanted money in return for their silence. Anyway, if you didn't steal anything from the workplace, why would you be worried?

If you did steal stuff from your boss, put it back and then the person won't have anything to hold over your head. If you did steal things, you have a lot more to worry about than the person who said they were going to tell on you. Last time I checked, theft was still illegal.

Sure there weren't other things you took worth a lot more than a $1.00?? If not $1.00 wouldn't be worth no ones time.

Am I the only person who can't see a question here? I know I've had a rough day but really...

Judy - for some unknown reason the original question was somehow deleted. He essentially said that he took $1.00 worth of nuts and bolts and his co-worker is telling him that he will tell the boss about his theft and the OP was upset thinking he was being blackmailed. I think he either a) took more than $1.00 of nuts and bolts or b) has a guilty conscience and is upset. I'm tending to lean more towards choice a myself on this one.

And no, you're not having a rough day after all!

Never get into a blackmail issue, if you did something, better to tell the boss and get over it, than live with someone blackmailing you.
Appears the Original poster went in and changed his question to a thank you. Please always leave original questions in place

And once again I remember why I always paste the question!

Anyway - assuming OP walks away from this wait until the next job when they ask him if he's ever stolen anything and he turns red OR something happens and he takes a lie detector test.

It's called the law of threes - if people say they had 1 beer, they had 3. Three beers, they had nine. $1.00 worth of nuts and bolts = $3.00 worth of nuts and bolts.

    Minimum rule of threes.
