    Broken bulb Killed everything
I have one of the cheap Aloha Breeze Remote Ceiling fans.:( I was painting today and hit one of the bulbs in the light. It shorted out something because all of the lights went out. I turned the switch off removed the broken bulb and replaced it with a new one. Now the NOTHING WORKS NO FAN, NO LIGHT, NOTHING. I did go and check the breaker box all breakers are fine. Any ideas:confused:?? My husbands is going to kill me he really enjoys that remote fan.. Betty

Go back to circuit breaker panel, some times breakers don't move very much when tripped. Push on breaker handle, if it feels spongy it's tripped. If in doubt, turn off then back on.

Hubby should have been doing painting.

Not familiar with remote control version but could fault be with remote? Do you have anything else that is not working.

Nope just the fan and light.. I have now pulled the fan down, and removed the remote "thingy" LOL not perfect wording but hopefully you understand.. Wired it back without the "thingy" and fan works but not the light. I am about to test the light kit now. Will let you know what happens.. Thanks

OK got it fixed somewhat.. NO remote, but do have a light and fan.. the remote "THINGY" is bad apparently.. Wired everything up without it and TADA it works.. so if you ever break and bulb and everything dies it is most likely the remote "THINGY"... LOL Looks like hubby will be getting a new remote ceiling fan for birthday now.. LOL

Yes, breaking a bulb can short a remote receiver.

Plus Aloha Breeze fans are CHEAP and TERRIBLE. Return the whole thing to WalMart and get your money back.
