I have a 1990 Honda Transalp. It has a 600cc engine. The chain is just about gone and the sprockets are okay at 14,000+ miles. What is the most practical way to replace the chain by myself. Is there a tool to buy and what grade of chain do I want? Thanks cz

I would think it has a Master Link, You want to place the bike on a stand so rear wheel spins free, place in neutral, spin wheel until you see the master link, and is in a spot to be able to be removed, place in gear(keeps chain from falling free from bike)
Connect new chain to old chain, and pull old chain out which will thread in new chain, reconnect.
When installing the clip, have open end of clip to rear of bike(top of chain),
Lubricate, adjust.
Use best quality you can afford.
