Sc non-renter left items behind what to do?
My fiancé let his cousin and his family move in (temporarly) to his second house. After 2 years, he asked them on July 3 of this year to move out within a month. They finally moved out the last week in August. Unfortunately, he went to jail and his wife is supposed to be moving the rest of their things out of the house. I have written a letter stating that she needs to remove their things, but how long can I give her to move them? Thanks..

Well, first of all - make sure that everything is conducted, signed, etc in your fiance's name. Just so some silly "technicality" doesn't screw everything up.

From the scenario you described, even though there was no lease and they didn't pay rent, they are / were his tenants. The agreement between your fiancé and them now needs to follow the SC landlord / tenants laws. There's a "sticky" at the top of this forum with a link for each state. It should state in there the proper procedure.
