    Confused Installing Programmable Thermostat
I unscrewed the old wall plate (Singer Control) from the wall and was greeted by 4 wires attached to the plate. 2 black and 2 white. The following description was also noted.
    Black wire - L2
    Black Wire - T4

    White Wire - L1
    White Wire - T3
I only have electric heat which us used for electric baseboard.

Upon opening my new programmable thermostat I found a whole new set of letters G, Y, W, RH, RC.

I am totally confused. Any assistance would be helpful, even if it means perhaps I should let a professional handle it.

    Thanks!

Your old thermostat is a high voltage thermostat , 120-240v. Your new thermostat is a 24v. Take the knew one back and tell them that you need one for electric baseboard heater. Do not attempt to hook up the new thermostat, it will be fried.
