    Replacing Interior door casings!
    HI,

I am currently renovating my flat and definitely want to get rid of the ex-council any wood will do look ;)

I want to rip out all of the wood inside the flat, skirting boards, archatrive and door casings. Basically I want to take it back to bricks and plaster and replace with all new matching wood.

What steps do I need to take? I don't want to in with crow bar and then figure out I missed an important step, Please help :)

You're in England? I think most readers would not understand a) your english and b) the building methods. :-)

The first thing you need to do is look at your bank balance and come up with a budget. You've described something that is expensive.

If all you want to do is change the look of the wood, then the easiest & cheapest thing is just to paint.

The next easiest thing would be to remove only the wood you want to replace (not take it back to bricks). You may find this difficult to do as sometimes the plaster will come with the wood when you try and pull the wood off.

If you want to take it back to bricks, then you 're looking at a full renovation - you can redo the wiring/ plumbing and potentially change some of the structure to make the flat more useable. This would be a major expense
