I had a washer less faucet installed by a plumber in the tub area. It runs off water and drips. The plumber said it was because it was new, I had him back two times now. He told me to place the shower handle between the shower and spout. It still leaks.

Is this true about washer less faucets?

Your plumber's blowing smoke up your skirt. New faucets, whether it has a washer, are supposed to work upon installation. Period! Having said that I believe that some crud got in the valve body and is preventing it from completely shutting off. Not knowing the brand and model of your faucet I can't get specific but I would shut the water off and open up the valve. Check and remove any trash that you may find. This next step's important! Now, turn the water back on for a minute to flush out the supplies and the open valvebody. Reassemble and test. If that don't get it then demand the faucet be replaced under warranty at no cost to you. Good luck and keep me informed, Tom

You probably have some small debris between ceramic discs. Debris may come out by itself in few days - but most likely you will have to open the faucet and clean it manually. Just be careful with the disc: remember how they fit on top of each other. Don't drop them or mishandle them. They are very delicate and are easily to be damaged.

You should not have to do one thing other than tell the plumber to come back and do the job right or you'll stop the check. His work should work 100% from day one, he outright told you a lie so don't be too trusting of this guy.
