I have got a second hand PC, no sound if I use the internet, or if I play a disk
But I do have sound for music in windows media,
Anyone help its getting on my nerves

Not clear, you only get no sound when on internet but if not on internet, sound works?

When I got this PC, it had music files saved in a file, these play fine in windows media
However when I put in a cd or dvd the sound doesn't work also when I go on you tube or anything which usually have audio, there is nothing
I don't understand it myself

First thing to check is to make sure you have wav volume is up or not muted

-Double click on the speaker next to clock and it should bring you to Master Volume
-Look to see if Wave is in that list and it is not muted and the volume level is up
-and look for any other items that may be muted as there may be a CD/Audio in also

Try again to see if any difference
