    No cold air upstairs!
I'm wondering what the best way is to go about getting the 2nd floor of home to cool--It's a brand new AC system and yet the cold air doesn't reach upstairs--clean the ducts?

I will be watching for the answer to this. I live in a four story townhome and let me tell you heat rises. I'm not sure how the heating /cooling system works, but cleaning the ducts is a great place to start. I will start there, thank you.

If I had a brand new a/c in my house and it wasn`t doing the job I would be calling the installer and asking some questions. My reputal contracters will stand behind their work,at any rate they know what you have and should be fixing the problem

Well wmproop has a point, maybe it's defective, maybe it's not large enough/strong enough. Maybe u need new thermostat?

If you do not have return air or enough on the 2nd floor this is the problem. Often the hvac co. will come in to see the equipment and not even care if the duct is enough or not.
As an example a month ago I replaced a old heating and cooling system. The returns were low on the floor and the duct was not updated when the old a/c was original installed.
Only after the system was up and running I could see the problems in the house. The homeowner did not want to pay the additional cost to relocate the returns from low on the wall to high near the ceiling. At this time they have new equipment with poor ductwork and I'm sure not very effient. If I included the duct work repair in the beginning would my price be to high so not to get the job?
