Looking for OTR trucking job with no luck.
I'm 32 years old and I am trying to find a trucking company that will hire me on.
I spent 6 years in prison for Theft of means, (Stolen truck) I got out July 3 2007, spent 13 months on parol and have now completed parol with no mishaps. I'm a class a CDL holder
With nothing more than a local job looking for more. I've called, I've had multiple interviews with multiple companies only to be turned away for a mistake in my youth.
Anyone with some help or with a direction I may take, I would be very grateful to.

I think it might be hard to get a trucking job if you once stole a truck.

It was'nt a big rig, it was a U-Haul. I did'nt steel it nor was I charged for steeling it, I was charged for knowing it was stolen while I was driving it and that is how Arizona gets down..

Did you try Knight Transportation in Phoenix?

No, but I tried Warner, Swift, England, and a couple of smaller ones.

The owner of Swift Transportion died, he had two sons. The two sons did not like each other and fought. Long story short, one son owns Swift the other owns Knight. I worked for Swift and always heard the other son, Knight, was a good guy who gave people a chance. Simon is also another outfit to try, they are in Salt Lake City. They are the trucks with a skunk. Last method is to try an independent looking for an OTR driver. A letter from a lsw enforcement officer who knows the story and gives a reference would go a long way too.

Thank you Frankie, I did not know that, and I will try with knight. I'm not sure, but is'nt knight a refer outfit? Do you know if they go through AIT or not? I only ask because I know that Swift and Warner do and both times I was told I was burnt. Let me know, and as far as a letter from an officer, I don't know, I may be able to get one from my old parol officer and I will try... Thany you very much...

Knight is like Swift it has different Divisions so they do have reefer but also Van. I do not know about AIT because I did not work there. The letter could be something you could present to AIT, maybe your parole officer can help you with that also. I also find attorney general's offices and your congressman''s office might help you, once you show them the history and your "payment to society" is completed. They want you to have gainful employment.

    Good Luck, Frankie
