If there is already a fixture there it's a snap. Is this a replacement of an existing fixture or do we need to explain how to run new wires and switch?

Larry, your question is unanswerable as asked. As ballengerb1 says, we need more detail.

Tell us more about this situation.

MY Neighbor and I figured it out. The ceiling box had a white , black and red. The red was to the dimmer switch. We followed the wiring instructions in the lighting kit and everything worked out fine after we figured out the red wire. Thanks, Larryski

Red usually indicates a two way switch some where in the room. Was this your case too? No green, have you checked to see if you have grounding available?

The mounting bracket had a "green screw" so the ground from the source box and the ground from the light fixture were attached to the ground screw. All is OK and everything is working. Thanks for the reply:)

Just because your box has a green screw doesn't mean you have a ground. Cable or older BX could be feeding the box so grounding is not a sure thing. You need to use a tester to be sure that the box is grounded. What type of cable/BX goes to the box?
