    Speeding ticket
I got a speeding ticket approx three weeks ago. I could not believe how fast the cop said I was driving, but did not feel I could really argue. Then my boyfriend got a ticket in the same car a few weeks later and the cop said he was doing 17 miles over what my boyfriend thought the speedometer said.

If the speedometer is wrong, where do I get that checked and is that a viable excuse to argue in court. I don't need the insurance problems.

    Thanks

That's definitely worth fighting in court. Especially if you have proof. So go get that checked, and if it's the case, then get it in writing, a receipt or whatever. AND get it fixed. However, 17 mph over the speed limit is something that you should be able to tell based on the pressure applied to the brakes, and if you drive this vehicle often then you should be used to how fast the car moves at the speed limit.
