    Implantation Bleeding
    Hi,

I last got my periods on 16 Aug 2008. We are trying for a baby. Abt a week ago, I did see little blood in my panty and was happy thinking I might get pregnant. But this evening, I again was bleeding. It was not scanty like last time but was like the start of period. What could this mean and why is it that I bled a week ago?? Also would like to know that when one gets the implantation bleeding, how many days or how long does it last for?? Help would really be appreciated... Thanks

Sounds like you are getting your period. Sometimes spotting occurs early in the period before the period actually begins.

Implantation bleeding is a controversial subject and some medical professionals Don't believe that the actual implantation is the cause of the bleeding, more that the woman is about to come on her period when implantation occurs and the hormones of pregnancy do not allow for a full on period, just spotting.

Think of it this way, something as small as a pencil dot implanting in the uterus causing bleeding? Nah.

Implantation bleeding usually occurs about 7 -10 days after ovulation. I had it both pregnancies and it was lighter than a normal period and an orangey colour first time and lasted less than a day. Second pregnancy it was heavier and I thought that I had started my period so I went out on the town but it stopped the next day! Not everyone has this though and many of my friends did not get it.

If its heavy and your period is due then its your period.
