    Fair estimates
    Hi,
There are 2 things I need a plumber for in my kitchen. A local unemployed plumber (non-union) said he could help me out, but won't give me an answer about paying him... he's leaving it up to my discretion. I don't expect him to work for free, so I'd like to know a fair amount to give him.
The black iron gas line needs to be extended so I can re-locate my oven. I have an elbow (90) and two pieces of pipe, 30" and 36", that will work. That's the first job.
The second job is to hook up a double sink... no garbage disposal or water filtration. The sink is in place and the flex hoses are already attached. He would have to install 2 cut off valves and solder the coupling piece onto the drain pipe. The existing pipes are in very good condition.
The parts for both jobs are already purchased and the areas are clean, free of debris, and easily accessible.
I am also unemployed at the moment. Even though my budget is tight, I want to pay him a fair price. What do you think is a decent amount?
    Thanks
    Peace
    Candice

Not knowing the labor rates in your area I'd get a few estimates from a pro(s) and then give him part of their estmates, maybe half. I think $100 would be appreciated by him.
