    Bamboo Roots
Can the roots (rhizomes) of running Bamboo plants cause harm to structures/foundations?

Almost any plant can cause problems to foundations. Roots can get into very narrow cracks and grow larger. A bigger issue is when the plant later dies and rots, now you have abigger crack. I don't think bamboo would have the destructive power or an aok tree or willow. Willows like yo get into your plumbing drains more than anything else.

Bamboo is a very invasive fast growing plant and if using it to accent a garden, should be contained within a cement enclosure. Yes, it is more destructive then a willow, but not an oak.

Should never be planted close to a house for this reason. Once it's there you have it for a lifetime.
